Advocacy for Kent prisoners.
Starting in September 2009 we were awarded sufficient funding to offer advocacy to prisoners suffering from mental health issues. This project will run for two years and operate 2 days per week, covering Elmley and Stanford Hill.
As well as offering our advocate, Sally is able to provide leaflets and obtain information about other services that help with mental health issues if required.
Sally plans to start a small lending library of self help books for inmates.
She will also try to assist those due for release to access help in 'out Kent locations'.
(The funding for the above project is supplied by 3 different bodies including the East Coast NHS Wellbeing Fund.
